IVAN ARANDIA & TARA PILBROW

Ivan Arandia is an Argentinean tango dancer, choreographer and teacher with 15 years of experience. Ivan trained with Argentinean tango masters such as Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Osvaldo Zotto, Gabriel Angio and Natalia Games, amongst other important figures of the tango world. He danced in the movie "Evita", and participated in "Strictly Dancing", a Channel 4 documentary on Tango. Ivan choreographed the dance scenes in the Alek Keshishian’s film "Love and Others Disasters" starring Brittany Murphy.

Ivan toured the UK with top tango group "Tango Siempre", teaching and performing in the Royal Academy of Arts and various arts centers in the regions. In Australia, Ivan performed for the show "Tango Takes 2" in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne. He also ran various tango workshops in Melbourne and Perth. He performed in the show “La Milonga Interna” at the 2004 Festival do Atlantico in Madeira, Portugal.

As a member of the company Tiempo de Tango (2004 - 2009), Ivan danced at the 58 LLangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales and at the Edinburgh Festival.

He also toured the UK with Aerial Dance Theatre Company WIRED (2008). Ivan is also one of the main choreographers and dancers of TRANSTANGO (2009-2011), a multidisciplinary tango/comtemporary dance show recently performed at the KINGS PLACE in London to great acclaim.

Ivan is the director of NEGRACHA Tango School in Holborn, central London. Currently, Ivan teaches and performs tango regularly in various scenes in the UK and abroad.

Tara trained as a contemporary dancer at the Laban Centre in London. After several years of working with contemporary dance companies in London, France and the US, she discovered Tango, which quickly became a passion. Tara spent more than a year in Buenos Aires studying tango with maestros such as Pablo Villarraza and Dana Frígoli, Mariano Chicho Frúmboli, Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa. She was one on the main choregraphers of TRANSTANGO (2009-2011) and continues to teach and perform both Tango and contemporary dance in London and in Argentina, as well as in France.
